Cité des Arts
Description
Work of Yann Kerommes and Aurelio Galfetti, the Cité des Arts is housing the Conservatory of Regional Influence of music, dance and drama, but the Municipal Art School and many musical associations.
Finished in 2002, it was built following an innovative process, which is using for the first time in France a self-cleaning concrete. It causes the oxidation of pollutants like mosses, lichens and gases. It is composed of two independant buildings, linked by an underground tunnel, which is preserving the view on the park and the mountains. The auditorium of the concert hall and the rooms of musical teaching have a very well studied sound, every room has been created as "an independant box".
