On May 26 1944, hundreds of bombs were dropped by two American B17 and B24 Liberator planes on the town of Chambéry at 10.44 am. In 90 seconds, 200 people were killed, 300 wounded and 3,000 injured, all victims of Operation Overlord.
But this dark page also shows Chambéry's impressive resilience. Commemorate the 80th anniversary of this date, still vivid in the collective memory, with a tour that evokes testimonies of this radiant day suddenly darkened, and discover how the city rose from its ashes
