On May 26 1944, hundreds of bombs were dropped by two American B17 and B24 Liberator planes on the town of Chambéry at 10.44 am. In 90 seconds, 200 people were killed, 300 wounded and 3,000 injured, all victims of Operation Overlord. But this dark page also shows Chambéry's impressive resilience.
