This oratory is evidence of monastic life and, more recently, of the life of the Bauges mountain people. You can enter the chapel dedicated to Saint Bernard.
From the car park, cross the main road and set off on a narrow street by following the red and yellow markings. A wide uphill path taking an hour goes to the Oratory. From there descend straight down the meadow with your back to the Oratory. Continue through a forestry track to reach a tarred minor road which brings you to the village of La Compôte. Go up through the village by taking the direction of Jarsy. On your way out of the village at the cemetery, take a path to the right which leads to the hamlet of Etre through the plain. Go back to the village of Ecole via the road.
