The ski mountaineering route enables you to descend the slopes into Les Aillons-Margériaz 1400. The route offers 360° views of the surrounding mountains.
The route is relatively easy to enable people of all ages and abilities to discover the discipline of ski mountaineering. The route starts on the blue, red and black cross-country skiing trails then branches off at the wooden post next to the "Pré de Chavanu" (Chavanu meadow). The route is indicated by a yellow marker with an orange circle on top. You can find more information on the map of the ski slopes of other ski mountaineering routes that use the snowshoeing trails. These trails are shared by a range of different sports. When you arrive at the top of the resort (1845m), you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains of Le Massif des Bauges, La Chartreuse and Les Belledonnes with the magnificent Mont Blanc in the background. Recommendations: 1 - Be informed: snow conditions, weather reports 2 - Be prepared: make sure you have the right fitness level, route and equipment 3 - Be kitted out: clothes, shovel, probe, avalanche beacon, maps 4 - Behave: stay on the trail, do not use the downhill ski slopes for going uphill, watch out for winch assisted snow groomers 5 - Adapt: know when to call it a day due to weather conditions or fitness.
