A beautiful snowshoeing trek that will take you below the slopes of Mont Colombier for some lovely views.
From the centre of the village of Ecole, turn off the main road onto a narrow street to the right of the town hall. At the crossroads, turn right and follow the long path through the woods of La Fullie, over a ridge and past the Chapelle Saint-Bernard, dedicated to St-Bernard de Menthon, patron saint of mountaineers. Feel free to go inside and leave a note in the visitors' book. Continue south-south-west on the GR 96 along the long ridge path that offers views of the Bauges peaks (Pécloz, Dent d'Arclusaz, Mont Colombier). You continue through the woods until you reach the alpine pastures of La Fullie, near the pass of the same name. In just a few minutes, you cross the La Fullie mountain pasture to reach Les Chalets (1380m) on the right, from where you have a magnificent view of the surrounding peaks. Return by the same route. This walk is also accessible via Aillon-le-Jeune.
